Wondering if anyone with a NorthWind tandem can tell me the size of your truss seat drops, NorthStar website only says the width and the screw length of 6", wondering the height, is it 4" or 5"?

My old Bell NW has drops that are 4” and 3.5” (for slight seat angle). I don’t think they would be a full 5” because the 6” bolt needs to run through the gunnel, drops, and seat with room for a nut.

Upon further investigation, I remembered I bought this canoe used and he threw in an extra set of drops. Found them and they are shorter yet. So, not sure how long they come purchased, but evidently you can cut to length you like. The ones in the boat now are longer than the spare set. Original owner must have wanted to sit lower in boat.

Thinking they are 4", I have the outfitter edition riveted hangers on a 20' NorthWind, they are too low for the middle seats, probably 6.5". I'd like to raise them up with truss drops, guessing this is what they use when not riveted.

The seat drops on my Polaris are 4".
Edscanoe also sells Bell seat drops and states that they are 4".

Just looked at mine and they vary depending on bow or stern seat and bow/stern end of drop. Looked like 3.5 to 4.5 range.

I actually just ordered truss drops and a seat from Essex, they have a 40" seat with 26" of webbing. Although I have ordered forms eds in the past for this Essex had better seat options. I should have mentioned I need a longer seat as I'm moving forward 6" as well, give a little more room between 3rd and 4th person.

Remember you can always cut those if your seat seems too low. I did it with my Northwind 17
